It Starts With One Bad Idea
Seriously
_On April 8th, 2012 with no set route and no support, our fearless five-some will thunder off from Cochin - along with 70 other rickshaw teams - into the chaotic underbelly of India. Fueled by our wits, we’ll steer, push and cajole ourselves toward the northeast city of Shillong. Along the way, we’ll face choking traffic, constant breakdowns, defiant cows, Bihar bandits and Delhi Belly, unbearable heat and humidity. But it will all be worth it in the name of adventure and charity - or at least that’s what we’re telling ourselves. We are raising USD $3,500 for FRANK Water, an organization that works with local NGOs to provide safe drinking water to rural villages.
What is the Rickshaw Run You Ask? Imagine the quietest, fastest, safest all-terrain vehicle in the world...Now imagine the opposite. Three wheels, half a horse power and more fun than any other vehicle on planet earth, the humble Rickshaw is undoubtedly the ultimate long distance, off-road machine. Despite being designed for short distances on road. Now imagine the bliss of trying to get this untrusty steed across India. This then is the Rickshaw Run. Dreamed up by the chaps at the League of Adventurists in London, the Rickshaw Run is now in its sixth year and has earned a reputation as “probably the stupidest and the best thing you could possibly do with two weeks.”

The (mis)-Inspiration for Our Adventure
Roald Amundsen - Our Muse
_Famed 19th Century Norwegian polar explorer who famously quipped that, in contrast to the far more noble pursuit of exploration, “adventure is just bad planning.”

Birth of The Inevitables!
Well Sir Amudsen we embrace your notion - and your glorious mustache - though, unlike you, we revel in the *inevitable* adventures and mishaps that are certain to befall us on our pursuit.
